Monday, Sept. 25

  • ACT grammar: write 1 sentence that contains all 7 parts of speech the ACT tests.
  • ACT vocab list 2
  • Begin reading The Crucible. Fill out the character sheets and study guide as we go.

Tuesday, Sept. 26

  • ACT grammar practice: parts of speech
  • vocab activity: write a paragraph about the Salem Witch trials using the following vocab words: coherent, compensate, critical, compassion, contradict
  • continue reading The Crucible: p. 1241-1245

Wednesday, Sept. 27

  • Vocab activity: Write a scene of dialogue between two of the characters that could have taken place before the opening scene of the play. A prequel scene, if you will. You must use the following vocab words at least once:
    • compose
    • condescending
    • contract (not a legal document)
    • cumbersome
    • deficit — Then, highlight and identify all of the pronouns and prepositions you used in your dialogue. Turn these into the blue basket when you are done.
